I love a Certain Femme Friend Of Mine...
...and therefore accompanied her to the New York Sheep and Wool Festival in Rhinebeck, New York.

DId I mention how good a friend this CFFoM has been to me?

"You can blog about it," said the CFFoM by way of enticement.

Words; however, seem to be failing me. Really, what can a person say about a Leaping Llama competition that hasn't already said before?

It was strange to be on a fairgrounds, in such a theoretically farm-like atmosphere, and have such completely not farm-like activities going on. The CFFoM asked if there were no Leaping Llama contests in Hartford Wisconsin (where I grew up). I explained that we never heard so much as a whisper about such a contest. Granted, this may well be because there was a nearby Libby's plant and everyone grew beets: one could surmise that a Leaping Beet contest would be even less successful than a Leaping Llama contest.

In other news, I have officially seen all the yarn I need to see. For the rest of my life.

More random-ness of the Sheep and Wool Festival kind

I developed a crush on this Leaping Llama participant. We couldn't decide about the Gaydar ranking. BUT her alpacas were wearing matching neck scarves; if that doesn't speak to femme as a subversive gender identity, what does? (please note, rhetorical question)

i was once kidnapped by CCFOM and taken against my will to a yarn store. however once there, i was enticed by all the pretty colors and ended up spending money on yarn! still, that one experience was enough for me and i too feel that i have seen all the yarn i ever need to see.

Kelli you are indeed a good friend. A good friend who deserves a pair of hand knit socks for the winter time.

Thanks again for being such a god-send.
